FOD Walking! A Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Walk is a crucial safety practice of systematic inspection, walking the operational areas such as ramps, runways, and taxiways to identify and remove any foreign objects or debris that could pose a threat to aircraft and equipment. FOD can range from small items like bolts and tools to larger objects such as rocks or litter. The FOD Walk prevents potential damage to aircraft engines, tires, props and other critical components.
